Australian team decided to sweat in nets before their last encounter against South Africa. Initially, Glenn Maxwell hurt his forearm from a fierce ball from Mitchell Starc. Shaun Marsh came to replace his buddy, but he couldn’t last long as the stalwart got his right wrist broken, this time by Pat Cummins.
Glenn Maxwell was hospitalized and his injury is not fatal to cost this World Cup. While Shaun Marsh got ruled out of the tournament and Peter Handscomb luckily joined the squad as replacement after being ignored initially.

Justin Langer, the Australian coach, was sad with the news as he said- “It is obviously shattering news for Shaun and the squad. Throughout this tournament, his spirit, professionalism and the way he has completed has been typically outstanding.”
“We are right behind Shaun in his recovery and rehabilitation.”- he concluded.

Glenn Maxwell was said to be fine, but the all-rounder will be monitored on Friday before any call is made on him.
“The scans have cleared Glenn of any serious damage and we’ll continue to monitor him over the coming days,” Langer said. “We are hopeful he will be fit to perform for us on Saturday against South Africa.”
